Using FTP Voyager JV in Internet Explorer:

Internet Explorer may display a message similar to the one below stating that it has blocked the downloading of a file to protect your security. This file must be downloaded to launch FTP Voyager JV. If you receive this message, click the displayed banner in Internet Explorer and select the "Download File..." option.

Internet Explorer requires you to confirm the download of the "jnlp" file used to start FTP Voyager JV. Please select "Open" to launch FTP Voyager JV.

Using FTP Voyager JV in Mozilla Firefox:

Mozilla Firefox may display a message similar to the one below asking how the browser should open the FTP Voyager JV launch file. Open it with the "Java Web Start Launcher" (the default action) to run FTP Voyager JV. By checking the box labeled "Do this automatically for files like this from now on", you will not be prompted to do this again.

Using FTP Voyager JV in Mozilla Firefox:

Mozilla Firefox may display a message similar to the one below asking how Firefox should open the FTP Voyager JV launch file. Open it with the "Java Web Start Launcher" (the default action) to run FTP Voyager JV.

Using FTP Voyager JV in Safari:

Safari may display a message similar to the one below asking how the browser should open the FTP Voyager JV launch file. Click "Open" to launch FTP Voyager JV.

Using FTP Voyager JV in Google Chrome:

Google Chrome may display a download bar which attempts to download the "jnlp" file used to start FTP Voyager JV. Please follow the steps below to launch FTP Voyager JV.

(1) Select "Keep" to download the "jnlp" file.
(2) Once the "jnlp" file has been downloaded, click the button or click the drop-menu and select "Open" to start FTP Voyager JV.

Using FTP Voyager JV in Opera:

Opera may display a message similar to the one below asking how the browser should open the FTP Voyager JV launch file. Click "Open" to launch FTP Voyager JV.

WARNING: If the "Java Web Start Launcher" is not the default program for opening "JNLP Files", then please see our Knowledge Base Article #1883 for further instructions.

Troubleshooting

+	Safari downloaded the "jnlp" file, but failed to "open" it.
	Note: In some cases, Java Update 1.6_13 fails to reset the file association. Please follow the steps located below or in Knowledge Base Article #1792.
	Expand this section for instructions about setting up a file association for a default program.

Safari users:

From Safari's Download Manager, select the downloaded "jnlp" file, then click on the Finder button.

From Finder:

(1) Select the "jnlp" file.
(2) Click on the "properties" button.
(3) Select the "Get Info" item.

From the "Info" page:

(1) Under "Open with:" select "Java Web Start.app".
(2) Click on the "Change All..." button.

From the confirmation, select "Continue".

Launch FTP Voyager JV again by reloading this page.

FireFox users:

Open FireFox's "Preferences" dialog.
From the "Applications" tab, select "JNLP".
Change the action to "Java Web Start". Note: You may have to select it by navigating to "/System/Library/CoreServices/Java Web Start".

Open a "New Finder Window" by selecting "Go | Utilities" from the main menu.

(1) Navigate to the "Java" directory and select "Java Preferences.app".
(2) Click on the "Properties" button.
(3) Open "Java Preferences.app" by selecting "Open".

Under "Java Application Runtime Settings", make sure "Java SE 6" is at the top of the list.

+	Opera failed to open the "jnlp" file.
	Expand this section for instructions about setting up a file association for a default program.

From Opera's Main Menu, select "Tools", then "Preferences".

From the "Preferences" dialog:

(1) Select the "Advanced" tab
(2) Select the "Downloads" section
(3) Uncheck "Hide files types opened with Opera"
(4) Search for the MIME type "application/x-java-jnlp-file" or the File Extension "jnlp"
(5) If found, select it and click the "Edit" button. Otherwise, click the "Add" button.

From the "File type" dialog:

(1) Set the "MIME type" field to "application/x-java-jnlp-file".
(2) Set the "File Extensions" field to "jnlp".
(3) Set the "Action" option to "Open with Default application" or "Show download dialog".
(4) Click the "OK" button to save the changes.

Launch FTP Voyager JV again by reloading this page.
